•THREAD-JACKING: Threadjacking is fine, but if it goes past 10 comments or into some deep meta I would prefer if the players create a separate thread.
•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: Fourth walling is a-okay!
• BACKTAGGING: Backtagging is cool, but anything over a month old or that might affect current thread might be dropped.
•AVOIDED TOPICS: None, so long as it makes sense in the RP. C:
•PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/Her
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT: The Big End for Outer Wilds. Feldspar sits with the others in the Ancient Glade and plays one last song before the destruction and rebirth of the universe.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Feldspar is a Hearthian! outerwilds.fandom.com/wiki/Hearthian They’re a species of bipedal aliens with four eyes and blue skin. Their species is genderless and they all gravitate towards practical outfits with visible patches and large seams, and big ol’ workboots that are good for things like hiking and mining and spaceflight, probably.
Feldspar’s main outfit is an old flight suit held together with mismatched patches and tape, and underneath more of the same: patched-up trousers with visible tears, a patched-up shirt that’s in rough shape. They have a banged-up helmet and underneath an old aviator’s cap. They look like an old astronaut, and they walk with a bit of a limp and a wobble, as though they’re still getting used to the gravity. They’re absolutely covered in scars, and have some big ol’ nasty ones on their face that have healed relatively well, and a few that look like maybe they hadn’t been tended to properly.
•DEMEANOR: They’re friendly and charming, and they’re likely to drag almost anyone they meet into a conversation about where they’ve been and what they’ve seen. They’re an explorer through and through, and their approach to these other beings from different universes will be like how they’d approached their own solar system: there’s never a limit to what someone can know.
•ABILITIES: They can play a mean harmonica, and they’re the best Hearthian pilot that ever lived except probably the player character but ssssshhhh They’re clever as all heck, and share some of the same abilities as their fellow Hearthians: a strong stomach, the ability to repair just about everything, and some incredible resiliency. They’re also fairly knowledgeable when it comes to the operation and maintenance of spaceflight equipment, and can fly a jet pack like nobody’s business.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Their biology is oddly similar to that of a human being: they breathe oxygen and (probably) have all of the same organs that a human does, the only difference is in some of the superficial stuff. Their head tapers off into a point, they only have two fingers and a thumb on each hand, and they’re hairless. The Hearthians were once an aquatic species but definitely can’t breathe underwater now.
•CABIN INFORMATION: The door just looks like an average unoccupied cabin. The inside looks like this: https://assets.rockpapershotgun.com/images/2019/07/outer-wilds-feldspar-7.jpg
And zoomed out: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/outerwilds_gamepedia/images/e/ed/OW_XB_E32018_Skeleton.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20180808113431
Walking into their cabin will be like stepping into the camp in the Dark Bramble. It’s foggy and spooky, and Feldspar sleeps in the mouth of a giant, dead anglerfish. But they’ve made the actual camp fairly cozy, so there are some nice, tall pine trees to supply fresh oxygen, a roaring campfire, and tins of marshmallows they’d be happy to offer visitors.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Not much rattles Feldspar, so it’s hard to tell what they might find offensive. Maybe insulting their species would do it, but who would be that mean?
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: Sure!
•MIMICRY: Two Feldspars?? Dueling harmonicas!
•MAGIC: Do some magic on this alien!
•DEBATE: Characters can certainly engage Feldspar in debate! It just might not be the most intellectually stimulating conversation.
•OTHER / NOTES: I’m flexible with most plots as long as I’m asked first, so just ping me if it looks like we’re going down that road! I’d also prefer if Feldspar’s injures and old wounds weren’t treated outright through magical means. Feldspar needs to suffer a bit through the return to normal gravity and a decent diet.
